2013 Gini Tenuta Scajari ‘Le Mattoline’ Valpolicella Superiore DOC

About half of the grapes for the Valpolicella Le Mattoline are kept for drying - as in Amarone - but for only two months. They lose about a quarter of their volume, concentrating the flavour. The mature wine shows a clear, fiery red. Notes of cherries, and fine spice herald an incredibly powerful, elegant wine.
