Crusted is a traditional style and Fonseca is one of very few houses that continue to produce it. It is a blend of rich, full-bodied ports bottled without fining or filtration.
This Bicentenary Edition was bottled in 2008 and already displays attractive bottle maturity. On the nose, powerful aromatics of dark berry fruit, red currants, and a hint of mint. On the palate, layers of complex raspberry and eucalyptus, balanced by tannins and spice. Drinking superbly now but will continue to improve in bottle. Decant before serving.
