Napa Valley, California, USA
The 2014 cabernet sauvignon, a blend of 75% cabernet sauvignon, 9% petit verdot and the rest malbec, cabernet franc and merlot, is a classic example of Pritchard Hill, Chappellet and of Napa Valley. Brilliant purity, a dense purple colour, superb blackberry and floral-infused blueberry fruit and cassis, a full-bodied mouthfeel, moderate but sweet tannin and a long, layered, texture and finish make for a profound wine. Look for it to evolve graciously for another 20+ years.
