Typically, fragrant vapours that rise up from the still are captured by a purifier, condensed, and recycled back through the liquid, causing them to reinfuse the whisky.  This brings a floral and fruity complexity to the finished product, to balance against the powerful peated nature of Ardbeg whisky.

The Heavy Vapours was made without that.  This means that you have a full-throttle, heavily peated, gloves off, in your face experience.
