The name refers to the volcanic eruptions of 1614, which lasted for ten years and shaped the region of Etna on Sicily.  Naturally, the vineyards are on volcanic soils, perfect for producing quality wines.  This wine is extremely fruit forward, with a burst of ripe fruit and flowers on the nose, and lemon and green apple coming through on the palate.
