The Rockpile area is a remote location with higher elevation, offering a cooler growing season for more acidity and freshness, giving the wine more structure and balance from the naturally strong tannin of Zinfandel.  The wine has some floral notes like violet on the nose, while the palate has blackberry fruit.  The name Cat's Cradle is a reference to how the growing team and the vinification team have to work together to make something beautiful, just as in the children's game.
