Côtes du Rhône Villages, France
A very traditional style of wine from Rhone Valley. As the name would suggest it is a blend of six native grapes from the Region. Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, carignan, cinsault, and counoise. Whole bunches are hand picked and vinified individually in the traditional method in large oak vats, with daily pigeage. The “Les Six” are blended after maturation and bottled in the heart of Carignan. The result is powerful notes of black cherry, raspberry, and cassis with hints of spice and tobacco.
