2013 Feudo Maccari Maharis

Sicily, Italy

Maharis, the name of the watchtowers that the Arabs used to search the seacoast, symbolizes the meaning of diverse styles and cultures in an area steeped in tradition. Maharis features syrah, the native Sicilian grape famous for delivering deep, dark, brooding wines. Bush vines and low yield, long macerations, 16 months in French oak, and additional bottle age make for a wine that is at once pleasing and ready to drink, yet still has the structure to improve over the next 5 years.
