1970, 1977, 1978 Fattoria Selvapiana Chianti Rufina Riserva DOC

Tuscany, Italy

The hills where the Rufina vineyards are located lie on the foothills of the Apennines, the chain of mountains that divides Tuscany from Emilia Romagna. The nearness to the mountains strongly influences the microclimate of the area with cooler summers and great variants of temperature between day and night. For this reason, the grapes ripen slowly throughout the summer season, reaching a nice balance of aromatic compounds and acidity. The wines have fresh acidity, great finesse and elegance, silky tannins and a long finish.
